Fight like a Brave ♥ Fight like a Girl ♥ Never Fight Alone
Breast Cancer Fundraising Event for Taconic Family
Most people have been affected by cancer at some point in their lives; whether it be a
friend, family member or co-worker, cancer is a battle that should not be fought alone.
How do the Braves at Taconic High School help those affected? One step at a time! This
year, Taconic is hosting their first ever relay for breast cancer to raise money for their
beloved teacher and coach, Mr. Phelps and his family. His wife, Jen, a true, brave girl was
recently diagnosed with breast cancer and all donations will benefit her treatment and
recovery. Why? Because real Braves take care of themselves, take care of their school and
most importantly take care of each other; real men and real women make Real Braves!
All Taconic students, faculty and staff have been invited to participate in this community
event which will take place on Friday morning, October 28, at 9:00 AM on the Taconic
track. An estimated 200+ pre-registered participants will have collected a minimum
sponsorship of $1 per lap and arrive ready to fight breast cancer one step at a time.
Following a brief opening ceremony, participants will be given one hour to complete as
many laps as possible. Upon event completion, participants will then have one week to
collect donations based on their performance.
Please support this wonderful and worthwhile event hosted by the Taconic High School
Marketing & Event Planning class. Join the Phelps family and Taconic community for a
morning full of love and support on Friday, October 28 at 9:00 AM on the Taconic track.
